Dredging & Dewatering

Dredging & Dewatering

At STS we have developed our own mini-dredge used to remove organics, mine mud, sand and sludge from small dams.  The dredge has been designed to protect dam linings while operating safely even in operational dams.  Our mini-dredge can be used in either a 6" or a 4" format for removal of waste up to 300m3/hr at over 25% solids.

We offer a variety of total dredging, flocculation and sludge disposal solutions.  Sludge can be disposed of in tailings dams, pumped to thickeners on site, mechanically dewatered or dried in a geosynthetic tube.  We can perform all site flocculant testing required and then use our flocculant dosing systems to ensure effective solids separation.

STS have experience working in the mining industry, removing sludge from process water dams.  Our mini-dredge has also been used for removal and dewatering of municipal sludge lagoons, power station ash removal and organics removal from industrial sites.  All that is required to lower the dredge into the dam is a small Franna or similar, making handling very fast and cost effective.
